4. സജ്ജീകരണം

4.1 ബാറ്ററി ഇൻസ്റ്റലേഷൻ (റിസീവർ)

The receiver requires a 9V battery (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the receiver and insert the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

4.2 Charging (Main Host Unit)

The main host unit has a built-in 1250mAh lithium battery. Connect the recharging line (USB cable) to the charging port on the host unit and a suitable USB power adapter (e.g., 5V, 1A). The battery icon on the display will indicate charging status.

This function measures the length of various metal cables with at least 2 cores, including network cables (8P8C), telephone lines (4P4C), and BNC cables.

  1. Connect one end of the cable to the "LENGTH" port on the main host unit.
  2. Press the "LENGTH" button to initiate the measurement.
  3. The display will show the cable length and indicate the cable conditions (normal, short circuit, or open circuit) for each wire pair (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).
  4. Use the up/down arrow buttons to select the cable type (8P8C, 4P4C, BNC) for accurate measurement.

The cable tracing function helps locate target cables among a bundle. The receiver's sensitivity can be adjusted using the wheel.

  1. Connect the network cable to the "MAIN" socket on the emitter.
  2. On the emitter, press the "SCAN" button to select the desired tracing mode:
    • Analogue Tracing (Red Light): Channels 1 & 3. The receiver will emit a continuous tone. Adjust the sound size with the wheel.
    • Digital Tracing (Blue Light): Channel 2. The receiver will emit a distinct digital tone.
    • Vibration Mode (Blue Light Flashing, ET618 only): Channel 2. The receiver will vibrate when pressed against the cable.
  3. Use the receiver to trace the cable. The closer the receiver is to the target cable, the stronger the signal (sound/vibration) will be.

5.3 POE ടെസ്റ്റ്

This function checks the Power over Ethernet (POE) status, including cable mapping, polarity, and voltage of POE network switches.

  1. Connect the network cable from the POE switch to the "MAIN" port on the emitter.
  2. Press the "POE" button on the emitter.
  3. The display will show the POE voltage and indicate which pins are providing power. A digital flicker indicates positive polarity.

5.4 Remote ID Mapping (Optional Accessory)

If you have the optional remote ID mapping accessory, you can use it to identify specific cables in a multi-cable environment.

  1. Connect the remote ID mapping tool (e.g., Remote ID 1-8) to the far end of the network cable.
  2. Connect the other end of the network cable to the "MAIN" port on the emitter.
  3. The emitter's display will show the ID number of the connected remote unit, allowing you to identify the cable.

5.5 Multimeter Functions (ET618 Only)

The ET618 model includes a full-featured digital multimeter. Connect the multimeter probes to the DMM Input Jacks as indicated on the device.

5.6 NCV Detection (Non-Contact Voltage)

This feature helps locate the corresponding port on a network switch.

  1. Connect the network cable to the "MAIN" port on the emitter and the other end to a port on the network switch.
  2. Activate the port flicker function (usually by pressing a specific button or mode).
  3. The sequence light corresponding to the connected switch port will blink once every 2 seconds, allowing direct identification of the net wire.

Both the main host unit and the wire tracker receiver are equipped with flashlights for use in low-light conditions. Refer to the device layout for the flashlight switch location on the receiver.

6. പരിപാലനം
