- The chain is correctly tensioned when it can be pulled away from the guide bar by approximately 2-3mm at the center, but still snaps back into place when released. It should move freely around the guide bar without binding.
- Once the tension is correct, fully tighten the chain cover retaining knob.
2.3 Filling the Oil Reservoir
The chainsaw requires chain oil for lubrication during operation. Use only recommended chain and bar oil.
- Ensure the chainsaw is unplugged and placed on a flat, stable surface.
