Before first use and periodically thereafter, prepare the metal probes for optimal performance.

1. Gently rub the metal probes with fine-grit sandpaper.
2. Wipe the probes clean with a soft, dry cloth to remove any residue.

1. Ensure the meter has a fresh AA battery installed and the probes are clean.
2. Immerse the probe into the water to be tested. Ensure the metal probes are fully submerged.
3. Select the desired measurement (CL2 for Chlorine or PH for pH) using the switch on the meter.
4. Allow the reading on the display to stabilize. This may take a few moments.
5. Read the indicated value on the meter's scale.
6. Compare the reading to the recommended levels for pools and spas:

5. Chlorine Calibration

Accurate calibration is essential for reliable readings. Follow these steps to calibrate the chlorine measurement function.

1. Prepare a standard calibration solution with a CL value of 1.5 ppm. Note: This solution is not included with the meter.
2. Ensure a 1.5 volt AA battery is correctly inserted in the battery compartment.
3. Gently rub the metal probes with sandpaper and then wipe them clean with a cloth.
4. Immerse the cleaned probes into the 1.5 ppm standard calibration solution. The solution should cover approximately half of the black immersion level on the probes. Gently stir the probes in the solution for about 5-10 seconds.
5. While keeping the probes immersed in the solution, turn the wheel on the meter all the way to the left towards "CL2". Then, slowly turn the wheel back to the right side until the needle points to the chlorine level of 1.5 ppm.
6. Remove the probes from the solution without touching the wheel. The needle will move all the way to the right and stop on a letter between A and E. This letter indicates your adjustment point. The calibration is now complete.
