To measure the surface temperature of an object:

1. Point the infrared lens towards the target object.
2. Pull and hold the measurement trigger. The laser pointer will activate to help you aim.
3. For more accurate readings, hold the trigger for 2-3 seconds.

• With the device powered on, press and hold the Backlight/Laser button for at least 3 seconds to toggle between °C and °F.

Emissivity (ε) is a measure of an object's ability to emit infrared energy. Different materials have different emissivity values. Adjusting the emissivity setting on your thermometer ensures the most accurate temperature measurement for various surfaces. The emissivity range is 0.1 to 1.0.

To adjust emissivity:

1. Press the "MODE" button until "EMS" (Emissivity) appears on the display.
2. Use the Up/Down keys to adjust the emissivity value according to the material being measured.
