3.4 PC/Mac Disk Formatting Notes

• When partitioning on PC/Mac, select "MBR" (GUID or NTFS are not supported).

• App Encryption: Secure the "iDiskk Player" app itself with Touch ID/Face ID or a numerical password.

• Device Not Recognized (PC/Mac): Ensure the USB-A cable is securely connected. Check if the drive appears in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac). Verify the disk is formatted to exFAT and partitioned with MBR.
• Cannot Save DRM Protected Files: Due to Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection, files from third-party applications like iTunes, Apple Music, or certain streaming services cannot be directly saved to the drive.
• Cannot Download from iCloud: Direct downloading of files from iCloud to the iDiskk drive is not supported. First, download files from iCloud to your iPhone/iPad, then transfer them to the iDiskk drive.
• Forgotten Encryption Password: If you forget the password for encrypted files, the only way to access the drive again is to reformat it, which will erase all data.
• Battery Not Charging/Low Battery Alarm: Ensure the power input cable is correctly connected to a DC 5V 1A power source. The 4 LED indicators show battery status.
• Incompatibility with Time Machine: This device does not work with Apple's Time Machine backup feature on Mac.
• HEIC/HEVC/MOV Files on PC: For iOS 8 and above, photos/videos may be in HEIC, HEVC, or MOV formats. These are primarily for iOS/Mac. To view on a standard PC, you may need to convert them or install compatible software.
