The BAOFENG UV-16R is a robust two-way radio designed for reliable communication. Familiarize yourself with its main components:

Insert the provided Li-ion battery into the compartment on the back of the radio. Ensure it clicks securely into place. To remove, slide the release latch and gently pull the battery out.

Screw the desired antenna (either the original or the 48cm tactical antenna) clockwise onto the connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
