Follow these steps to set up your FIDECO YPZ230R Hard Drive Docking Station:

Once connected to your computer and powered on, the inserted hard drives will be accessible for data transfer. The FIDECO YPZ230R supports USB 3.0 Super Speed, allowing data transfer rates up to 5Gbps. It is also backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1.

5. Hard Drive Initialization

New HDDs or SSDs must be initialized and formatted before they can be recognized and used by your computer. If your drive is not appearing, follow the steps below for your operating system.

5.1 Initialization under Windows

1. Right-click on 'This PC' (or 'My Computer') and select 'Manage'.
2. In the Computer Management window, navigate to 'Disk Management' under 'Storage'.
3. Locate your new drive, which will likely be marked as 'Unknown' or 'Not Initialized'.
4. Right-click on the disk and select 'Initialize Disk'.
5. Choose a partition style (MBR for drives up to 2TB, GPT for drives larger than 2TB) and click 'OK'.
6. Right-click on the 'Unallocated' space of the initialized disk and select 'New Simple Volume'.
7. Follow the New Simple Volume Wizard to assign a drive letter and format the volume (NTFS is recommended for Windows).

5.2 Initialization under Mac OS

1. Open 'Disk Utility' (found in Applications > Utilities).
2. Select your new drive from the sidebar (it may appear as 'Uninitialized').
